Tasmania
Tasmania is famous for its rugged wilderness, snarly marsupials and 'Roaring Forties' latitude. In short, it is ideally suited to providing quality travel and adventure experiences.

The main issue for most, of course, is getting there in the first place. It's definitely off the beaten track and life on the island is very laid back indeed. In fact when we turned up at Launceston airport, there were three taxis on offer for a plane's worth of passengers and that was it ... no more came! We resorted to paying for a hire car in order to get us into town to pick up our gas canister supplies before the shops shut at 3pm on a Saturday!

The most obvious destination for adventurers is the Overland Track which is Tasmania's most famous wilderness offering. Less well known is the South Coast Track which is a seven day+, 84km track along the wild southern coastline of Tasmania. We have this in our sights and hope there is enough time to take it in.
