Ski Norquay, or Banff@Norquay as it was formerly known when we visited, is a strange little resort located on the outskirts of Banff town centre. In their own words, they describe themselves as 'Banff's Best Family Resort' and I can't fault them for how they're pitching it since there's not a huge amount to do there as an experienced skier/boarder.
Basically, all of the runs are on one flat face of the mountain, which results in the occasional feeling of déjà vu as you think "didn't we come down this run last time".
Anyway, since they're not claiming to be in competition with their neighbouring resorts, it's probably best to focus on Ski Norquay's plus points which are worthy of mention. Firstly, the views are as spectacular. In fact it's probably the perfect vantage point of Banff's signature mountain, Norquay. Mid-week, it is quiet since most of the tourists go elsewhere, and for us trainee-jumpers, the terrain park is the perfect leraning zone with a nice mix of mini-jumps and rails to raise your confidence levels. Plus they've got a night-lit park each Friday ... perfect!
