If you like trees, then you're gonna love this place! Home to some of the biggest redwoods in the world, Sequoia hosts trees that make most others seem twig-like by comparison.

Hopefully the pictures will give you some idea of the scale that I'm talking about ... I mean it's not like you see them and say 'that's a bit on the large side' ... they really are in a different league!

These huge examples live high in the mountains, historically with little human accessibility to them. Subsequently, they escaped the wrath of greedy lumberjacks and some have lived for over 2,000 years including the grand daddy of them all; General Sherman. At 275 feet tall and 100 feet in circumference, this is generally regarded as the largest organism on earth.

Apart from the trees, our schedule didn't really permit much of a look at anything else the park had to offer. I can imagine it is also home to some excellent backcountry hiking and camping possibilities. Worth a visit.
