Scuba Diving
We were introduced to scuba diving on our first holiday together in the Dominican Republic. We started like many do, I imagine, with a try-dive in the hotel pool. After a few laps underwater, we were hooked and decided to do the week-long PADI Open Water course - I mean that's got to be better than just lying on a beach hasn't it?

We are definitely 'holiday divers' and there are some stunning locations in the world to see underwater treasures. In the Galapagos Islands, we did a dedicated 10-day liveaboard trip which was fantastic - the best way to scuba dive in our opinion - we'd get up, jump straight into our wet suits, zip out on the panga boat to the nearby dive site, do a dive before breakfast and then return to talk about sharks over corn flakes and coffee - how cool is that!

More dive locations on our wish list include the Great Barrier Reef, the Maldives, the Mozambique Channel and Micronesia.

Sitting 10m under water in the dark watching huge manta rays swoop down and feed on lit beams of plankton.
Scuba diving abroad and then coming back to the UK and thinking it would be equally as enjoyable - erm, no.
