To the untrained eye, the Middle East may appear like a vast, inhospitable expanse of hot desert and rolling sand, but as we found out, there's plenty of life and action to be found in amongst the dunes.

We spent over two years living and working in the Middle East and had a great time there. Whilst the cities are very similar to most others in the world, the Arabic landscape, people and customs make you feel like you are in a foreign and mysterious place - a nice experience to have these days travelling in the modern world.

One of the best things about the Middle East is the heat. Toasty evening BBQs and a late night dip in the pool will always be fondly remembered. On the flip side, the intense humidity on the coast can be tiresome after a while especially for those who regularly sport a sweat moustache!
