Not so many pictures of Diamond unfortunately, but I thought it was worthy of mention since I do have some fond memories of the place.

It's a strange looking resort on paper, being very thin and long, and only occupying one face of the mountain, but once you're on the ground it's largely irrelevant.

Diamond Peak's main selling point is its awesome views of the north part of Lake Tahoe. The main drag down from the top of Crystal Ridge is like a series of postcard images coming at you one after another. Plus being right on the ridge line means that all of the trees are falling away from you leaving an unobstructed view of the Tahoe blue vista.

We were lucky to visit the resort after a good falling of snow which opened up some interesting terrain at the top of the mountain. Hats off to the expert area called Solitude Canyon. It's like the trials bike equivalent of a snowboarding run, needing careful planning and quick turns to get down it unscathed. We had some good fun in there.
