We've only attended a couple of events so far and in both cases they have been absolutely jam-packed with crowds of people. The thing is, carnivals generally tend to create a fun atmosphere, so crowds of happy faces, shenanigans, celebrations, laughing, joking, shouting and general carrying on is no bad thing ... in fact it's usually key to the parade's success.
One day we must make the trip to see the Rio Carnival in Brazil which looks fabulous. Also the Mardi Gras in New Orleans looks like it could be a giggle. And I'm sure there's many, many more around the world worth making the journey for. Drop us a line if you have any good suggestions.
Somebody generously offering their upturned milk crate so we could get a better view of the Sydney Mardi Gras.
The long walk home after Queen's Day ... no public transport operating in the city for obvious reasons.
