For starters it has no coastline like all of the other Australian states and that was one of the primary reasons that it was formed. When the country could not decide between Sydney and Melbourne as a capital city they created a new state 'somewhere in the middle' to be the seat of government. Recently, prime ministers have shown reluctance to even live in ACT preferring to fly there instead when parliament business arises.
We tried our best to see the bright side of ACT and to be fair there are some nice parts to it, but probably not much more than a good weekend of tourist sightseeing. There may be more to see in the wilderness areas but with so much else on the to-do list in Australia, I wonder whether we'll ever get back?
